Battery Safety Guidelines

Lithium polymer batteries are safe and reliable when handled correctly. Please follow these guidelines to ensure safe operation and maximize battery life.

Charging

  • Always use a charger specifically designed for lithium polymer batteries
  • Never charge above 4.2V per cell (4.35V–4.40V for LiHv)
  • Charge at the rated current (typically 0.5C to 1C)
  • Never leave batteries unattended during charging
  • Charge in a cool, well-ventilated area away from flammable materials
  • Do not charge batteries that are physically damaged or swollen

Discharge

  • Do not discharge below 3.0V per cell (2.5V absolute minimum)
  • Never short-circuit the battery terminals
  • Stay within the rated continuous and burst discharge current limits
  • Monitor battery temperature during high-rate discharge
  • Replace batteries that feel hot during normal operation

Storage

  • Store at 50–60% state of charge (approximately 3.8V per cell)
  • Store in temperatures between 15°C and 25°C
  • Keep in a dry, low-humidity environment
  • Store in a fireproof LiPo bag or metal container for additional safety
  • Inspect stored batteries monthly for swelling or damage

Handling

  • Do not puncture, crush, or apply excessive pressure to the battery
  • Keep batteries away from water and conductive materials
  • Do not expose to temperatures above 60°C
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the battery
  • Dispose of according to local electronic waste regulations

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

We accept sample orders as small as 5 pieces. For stock batteries, there is no minimum order. For custom OEM/ODM orders, MOQ is typically 500–1,000 units depending on the battery model and customization requirements.

How long does sample delivery take?

Standard sample orders ship from our Shenzhen facility within 3–5 business days. Express options are available. Once shipped, delivery to North American destinations typically takes 5–10 business days via DHL, FedEx, or UPS.

Can you provide custom battery dimensions and connectors?

Yes. We specialize in fully custom OEM/ODM batteries. We can manufacture to virtually any dimension (within manufacturing limits), capacity, voltage, discharge rate, and connector type — including Molex, JST, Hirose, or custom connectors to your exact specifications.

What certifications do your batteries carry?

Our batteries are certified to ISO 9001:2015, IEC 62133-2:2017, UN38.3, CE, UL2054, RoHS, MSDS, and FCC. Additional certifications (CB, KC, PSE, BIS, etc.) are available upon request. Contact us for specific certification requirements for your market.

Are your batteries safe for air freight?

Yes. All LiPol batteries comply with UN38.3 transport testing requirements, which is mandatory for shipping lithium batteries by air. We provide UN38.3 test reports, MSDS documentation, and proper labeling for all shipments.

What is the self-discharge rate of LiPol batteries?

Standard LiPol lithium polymer batteries have a self-discharge rate of less than 3% per month at room temperature (20°C). Stored at 50–60% state of charge in cool conditions, shelf life can exceed 12 months without significant capacity loss.

Can batteries be assembled into packs (series/parallel)?

Yes. We assemble single cells into multi-cell battery packs in any series (nS) and parallel (nP) configuration to achieve your required voltage and capacity. We also integrate BMS (Battery Management Systems) for pack protection.

Do you provide datasheets and test reports?

Yes. Complete technical datasheets, dimensional drawings, and test reports (including capacity, impedance, cycle life, and safety tests) are available upon request for all stock models. Custom battery projects include a full documentation package.

What is the warranty on LiPol batteries?

We guarantee that all batteries will meet specified capacity, voltage, and dimensional tolerances upon delivery. Batteries are fully tested before shipment. For defective cells or clear manufacturing defects, we provide replacements or full refunds.

How should LiPo batteries be stored?

Store lithium polymer batteries at 50–60% state of charge (approximately 3.8V) in a cool, dry environment between 15°C and 25°C. Avoid temperatures above 50°C. Do not store batteries fully charged or fully discharged for extended periods.
